There are basicly three things.
Get linked.
Get clicked.
Get rated.
(besides that there are META tags but they are kinda obsolete)
Two get the first two things you could start by putting the url in your signature on this and prefferably other forums.
The third one would invlove something like progenic or something.

yes, I think affiliates are the best way to promote the website. the problem is that I have only limited space for them so I have to select the affiliates wisely until I find a better place for the link buttons.

META tags are deprecated.
There is (ttbomk) only one (respected) search engine that uses them to index the sites.
The rest I allready said in the ^^ post.

You are correct, I misread the article I got it from. It is just the 'keywords' tag that most don't use anymore.
