Here, you need a SMTP server that allows relaying. Usually, you would find them rarely running on web sites. You can find those by scanning subnets at port 25.

I recommend using your local ISP's SMTP server...most web sites now require authentication to use their SMTP (25) and Pop3 (110) ports. There was a time when you could send emails pretending to be the director of the CIA. Those times have long passed.

Ah, those were the good days. Let's take a moment to reflect. Tongue

SMTP servers should check out e-mail id's before allowing mail to be sent, this should cut spam in half dont you think?

No, nothing can cut email spam in half...except for spammers to stop.

Mad a problem Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Report Post to a Moderator       IP Information

I could not use the way you explained for FAKE MAIL in that article.
I used smtp.mail.yahoo.com & mx1.mail.yahoo.com

But by the command "" MAIL FROM:anyaddress""
I receive an error message
error in arguments or authentication required.

how can I solve this problem?

You can't do that with smtp.mail.yahoo.com & mx1.mail.yahoo.com. They need you to authenticate before using thier service. Find some other server.
Tip: scan for hosts with port 25 open in your subnets cuz websites servers won't allow you to do that.

yes, perhaps you're right Heather. But spammers will never stop so long as they are affiliate programs around.

any1 have an idea how spam filtering software works? I'd love to know, cause spammers use obscure id's and text like "Hot S.e.x!!" which is hard to detect.

Scanning is done by port scanners Tongue. And I already told that hotmail and yahoo etc. servers won't work for sending fake mail.
