Why a server?
Why can't we just create a channel for some existing server. That is more than enough for us. In my opinion we don't need our own server. I spend a lot of time in IRC but only in Quakenet so I can start an IRC channel there but I don't really know if it's a good place for linux channel though there is other tech channels as well as gaming channels. Just a suggestion.

Pfft...if you want a good learning experience, just read a dictionary or an encyclopedia. I spend a great deal of my free time reading books. It enhances the speed at which you're able to learn new concepts. So...get reading. Tongue

I also spend alot of time reading books.
Nothing beats hands-on experience though.
However idleing in IRC wont make me any smarter.
Unless I am reading a book in the meantime though Wink

How many books per year?
Last year, from new years 2002 to new years 2003. I read a total of 526 books. I love reading. Smile When the year ends...I'll tell you the number of books I read. Tongue

When I began reading...I never imagined I would keep track either...but what I do to keep track is write the number of books, which increases by one every new book on the bookmark. Smile

what kind of books would be talking about here Heather? if its novels as thick and boring as "Clear and Present Danger", you deserve an applause.

I have a funny feeling that 526 books takes a lot of "spare" time.

No, think larger...novels written by authors like Tom Clancy.
His average page count is probably between 900-1100.
